Slopes, stairs and the gear beach houses collect

Plenty of homes here are built on a slope, so you'll often find steep driveways, long runs of outdoor stairs, or a house sitting well below the street. That only changes how long the carry takes, which is why a photo of the path up to the road helps us price it properly.

Near the water there are many older walk-up unit blocks without lifts and with tight parking out front. Further back from the sand, some blocks run into bushland and pile up garden waste between tidy-ups.

Beach houses also tend to gather gear: tired outdoor settings, broken umbrellas, old surf racks and furniture that has had years of sun and salt.

Common jobs

Typical jobs in the Northern Beaches

  • Green waste removal

On bush-edge blocks, prunings, palm fronds and fallen branches build up faster than a green bin can handle.

  • Furniture & couch removal

Outdoor settings and lounges worn out by sun and salt air are typical close to the beach.

  • Garage clean-out

Under-house storage on sloping blocks tends to fill with years of surf, camping and sporting gear.

  • Household rubbish removal

A general clean-out usually follows a downsize or a big spring clean, with a mixed load of boxes, bags and odds and ends.

  • Mattress removal

Old mattresses in walk-up units can be a two-person carry on the stairs, so we bring a second person when the job needs it.

Recycling and disposal facilities in the area

Recycling and disposal facilities in and around the Northern Beaches include:

  • Kimbriki Resource Recovery Centre, Ingleside
  • Benedict Recycling Belrose, Belrose

FAQ

Rubbish removal in the Northern Beaches: questions

The house is down a long flight of stairs from the street. Is that a problem?

No. We carry everything up by hand. Include a photo of the stairs with your other photos so the fixed price allows for the extra carrying time.

Can you take sandy, rusted outdoor furniture and beach gear?

Yes. Old settings, umbrellas, boogie boards and racks are all fine. The exceptions are gas bottles and anything still holding fuel.

Can you clear a holiday house while we're not there?

Yes. Approve the quote, arrange a key or gate code with us, and we'll clear it without you on site. Once it's loaded, we'll call you and text a secure card payment link.

Our driveway is too steep for a truck. Where do you park?

At the top, on the street. We walk or barrow everything up to the tipper, so there's no need for the truck to come down.
